Al-Kubaisa Cement Plant

In 2010, Al-Maysarah Group had won the concession rights to manage and to operate Al-Kubaisa Cement plant for a period of 15 years with a renewal option from the Iraqi Government under the Investment Development Program. The Plant is located in Kubaisah City – Al Anbar Province –  About 200 km west of Baghdad.

The current production capacity for the Kubaisa Plant is one million tons of OPC annually. Under the concession rights, Al-Maysarah is committed to upgrade the current facilities of the plant to reach an annual production level of 2.0 Million tons of OPC over a two-year period, with an estimated direct investment of over US $100 Million.

Al-Kubaisa Cement Plant is considered strategically an added value investment and will enhance the market presence of Al-Maysarah Group in the cement industry in Iraq. The upgrading and rehabilitation program that will be implemented is scheduled over a period of two years, during which a new power plant station with a capacity of 52 MW will be installed, while old power stations will be extensively rehabilitated to enhance their power efficiency. Also, the management of the plant will be enriched with new highly skilled personnel experienced in the field of engineering, marketing and cement production. In addition to enhancing the skills of 1170 employees.

The acquisition of Al-Kubaisa Cement Plant by Al-Maysarah Group is strategic and improves the market competitiveness of the Group in the Iraqi cement industry. The new added market capacity will position The Group as a leading cement producer in the Mid-region of Iraq, abreast to enhancing economies of scale in the manufacturing process at a cost efficient level compared to assets base.
